This does not mean review platforms disappear. Instead, buyers typically combine several information sources:
- AI assistants for initial recommendations.
- Review platforms such as G2, Gartner Peer Insights, TrustRadius and Capterra for validation.
- Vendor documentation for features, pricing and integrations.
- Independent reviewers who demonstrate real product experience.
- Sales conversations before making high-value purchasing decisions.
For expensive B2B software, buyers still need confidence before committing to contracts that may last years. AI often accelerates research rather than replacing it.

AI search systems differ from conventional search engines because they generate answers instead of simply ranking links. That changes which review pages become influential.
